4K Cheese & Meats LLC opened it's doors in May of 2005. The store was the
brainchild of Chris Kappelman. He and his wife, Paula, decided they wanted
to open some kind of store that would be fun and hopefully, some day would be
their future. They generously asked Paula's brother, Kevin and his wife Beth
to join in the venture. Over a few beers in the Cole Camp beer garden, the
idea got off of the ground. Chris and Paula Kappelman, and Kevin and Beth
Kyle came up with the name 4K.
Chris grew up around Concordia, MO and hung around the Emma Creamery, going along to pick up milk and to deliver cheese. Having a cheese store was always in the back of his mind. So the four partners decided on a store that would sell Wisconsin cheese. Ultimate quality was the goal of everything sold in the store. We now offer over 90 kinds of cheese in the store. |
"What else should we sell?" was the first question. We all love great
steaks, so it was decided we would sell hand cut, choice or better, ribeye,
strips and filets. "Why not sell our local wines from the Eichenberg Winery,
and how about beers that you can't buy everywhere?" were the next questions.
So now, over 50 kinds of beer are sold along with Eichenberg wines and
Baltimore Bend wines from Waverly, MO. Also added, were jellies and sauces
that bear the 4K label. We finally decided on sausages, brats, bacon, and
outstanding stuffed chicken breasts from Alewel's Meats in Warrensburg, MO
and Alma Meats from Alma, MO.

After our first year, we kind of accidently became a bar and restaurant. We added a huge two level deck in 2006 to accommodate customers who wanted to drink wine and eat cheese here. We started cooking our mouth watering steaks for fun every now and then. That evolved into cooking steak dinners on Friday and Saturday nights, from May until the weather turns too cold. We added a stage for bands and now have entertainment when we can. Click on upcoming events to see our current schedule. Check back frequently as this changes as more events are scheduled. Cole Camp, MO is a unique town located at the North edge of the lakes region. We are a town of 1000 people, but don't let that fool you. People here are proud of their town. There are events, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and the many unique businesses and restaurants, that go on throughout the year. When you are coming through our area, we invite you to stop by 4K Cheese & Meats LLC. Be prepared to smile, for our other goal was to make this a fun place, where you feel at home and comfortable. | |||||
